    Default Lake Keowee report 11/18/2021

My wife and I got out for a few hours yesterday afternoon, putting in at Cane Creek Landing. I was anxious to try out some new electronics, including a Garmin Echomap UHD 93sv and Livescope. I networked my Echomap + 93sv and mounted it in the back where my wife could see it. She's always thought spending $$ on electronics was silly because the fish didn't jump in the boat when we bought our first Garmin 4 years ago. The first 30 min or so I spent trying to get the UHD 93sv dialed in, still needs more work. Then I put the pole in the water and turned on Livescope. We immediately saw a big bait cloud off to the side with some bigger fish around the outskirts. She was fascinated with the technology. So much so that she missed 3 bites in a row with her minnows. I picked up a couple smallish spots on a GoGo Minnow. We kept moving up Cane Creek until we found a row of docks on the edge of the channel. We saw some more bait clouds moving around, but not much in the way of target fish. Just as we were about to move again, I swung the Livescope around and there was a diamond shaped formation of larger fish suspended at 10 feet in 23 FOW. First cast of the GoGo Minnow brought home a nice 12" crappie. She tossed out another minnow and this time it paid off with another good one. Unfortunately that was all we could get as it was starting to get dark. I was having some trouble with the stick steer and I didn't want to get stuck.

Awesome report! I'm hearing the crappie bite is good on all the upstate lakes and it sounds like y'all are going to have some fun pulling in the fish. Electronics have came a long way in the past few years and are putting more fisherman on the fish.
