    Default Wateree Stripers?

Anybody know if anyone is catching any? Still pretty hot, but cooling down a little. Shouldn't be long. Wife is itching to go.

I have not had much luck on Wateree. Been skipping her and going straight to Murray. Limit out most days.

Water temperature needs to drop. Too soon if your looking for schools. Early schools will likely be small.

Been wanting to try Murray, but it is a pretty good haul for me from up in nc. Do many people on Murray troll or do most live bait. I like to troll with alabama rigs.

It's a mix. I will run down lines. Planer boards and troll with deep diving plugs with the hooks removed. Then run a leader behind the plug with a swimbait. That's my favorite way to fish them. Remember you will be fishing deep until they school up. Which will be soon.

There’s a nugget of wisdom.….. a deep diver with the hooks removed. I guess it’s a poor mans dipsey / jet diver?

I keep getting my deep divers hung up in the tops of trees. That's why I remove the hooks and run a leader. Just break the leader off. At $25 to $40 a pop for deep divers. It adds up fast. Plus Murray stripers seem to like the pearl white swimbaits.

I've spent many days trying my luck on Wateree this year. I think I have gotten 1 striper per 8 hours of trying or worse. Caught more catfish trolling than stripers. Went to Murray few weeks ago and got 4 in the morning and came across a huge school.
