Default What’s the deepest you ever caught a crappie?

Last year I caught 1 @ 38 ft. Yesterday at Norman I caught 9 at 35 ft. on a jigging spoon. One was 12 inches and one wasn’t much bigger than the spoon. I think I had 3 over 10 inches. Name: 63397980469__77C861AA-64DD-42C1-84D3-A3D45D3DB126.jpg

btwn 35-40ft deep at Norman while fishing with Raccoon. So deep that the crappies were "floating" belly up in the livewell.
Oh I could wrestle a monster fish

Caught a few this year @ 25'-28' deep using a jigging spoon. I thought they were perch. Wished I had a few minnows that day.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

Wow, I thought it was a fluke, maybe I need to spend more time looking DEEP!! They were hard to spot. Just saw them about a foot off the bottom. I’ve caught the in 20 feet so tight to the bottom you couldn’t see them. I’m way better at picking them off the top of brush.

Caught them so deep that Remus took lunch break waiting on the electric reel to wind them up. Yeah! Fifty + foot is about as deep as I've got them in Wylie. Channel fishing is tough but 2 D shows them better when moving at .3 + .4 MPH. You know they are there now wait for us. I guess you'd have to lighten up your screen on LS to see them better. I don't have one but just from some of the screen shots I've seen. Good catching Doug! Thanks for the report.

Deepest crappie was 38ft. on Wylie. Deepest freshwater fish I've ever caught was catfish on Monticello @ 65ft.
Never done much deep water fishing, but would like to try it.
Never fished the deep spots on Wylie. Just learning the lower portion of Wylie so I'll get to them sooner or later.

    52’ in 68 FOW.
42’ in 50-86 FOW all winter.
I’m jealous of peeps that are catching in 15’ or less. LOL

caught some gooduns at 30' on 1/32oz jig & Panfish Assassin Tiny Shad many years ago at Watts Bar Lake in E. Tenn. fishing a upside down tree out in the middle of the lake. Luckily we were using weedless jigheads at the time & 4lb line or we may have turned the tree right side up from hanging up in the top branches (or else broken our UL's trying).
But, at least there were 3 of us in the boat, so there was at least one of us with a jig down deep enough all the time to keep the fish interested.
