    Default Santee Cooper in Jan-Feb

Just a curiosity. I already have a trip planned to a new to me lake this year for the end of this month. But, how is Santee during the cooler months? I know there are a lot of variables, but on average is the fishing decent? Deep water cover and structure as a rule produce best?

I search for brush in the channel, I have better luck on the jacks creek side of the bridge. Drop down jigs but they seem to only want minnows sometimes at this point in the year, there is also the 30+ foot pools but never tried them. But generally, find brush in the channel, drop down, catch fish.
