Dead Sea? You sure you wasn't at Norman? That's what we used to call in back in the 70's and 80's.
Before they started stocking it again. For years the only thing to catch there was small channel cats and bream. Stripers, white bass, the Big Crappie all dead off or was caught to the point there wasn't anything descent to catch.

Hate you only found one crappie.
Better luck on your next outing.
Not sure I'll get to go this weekend with this cold weather.
But we'll see.
