Default Son of a baker man

I went to charge my Ulterra remote and found it unchargeable. They are suppose to be water proof Right! Well mine has set since we went to High Rock for the clash after the down pour of rain up there and on on the way home. Plugged it in, it lit up with a blank screen and distorted spots, that looks like water under the plastic facing. Got it in a bowl of rice now and hope it clears the moisture out and it will come back to life. Out of warranty I know but do you think Minn Kota would replace it free due to supposedly being water proof?

Are you sure it's water proof? and why did you wait to plug it in? I leave mine on the charger 24/7. It's been in some rain storms, maybe because mine is the old style larger unit. I'd give MK a call you never know it's almost Christmas maybe they will send you one. good luck

Not needing to plug it in when I came back home, it had a fairly good charge on it. I was going to charge it over night and have it ready to go fishing Saturday. Called Minn Kota and they said no replacement. I had to purchase another remote. $399 is their price.

Found one on line. I'll have to save all my pennies again. LOL

If the rice don't work take it apart and take a shop vac to it or maybe bag it and vac seal it if you got one.

Man! That sucks especially right here at Christmas. Maybe Poorman has some ideas to try. I hope one works for ya.

I got it tight sealed in rice tonight and will leave it there for several days. Thanks for the replies. Brian has me an offer but it's relatively close to what I'm already looking at. I ask him about a military discount so I'm waiting on his reply back. Joe, that is exactly what my remote is. Minn Kota quoted me the larger version of the remotes which is wrong for me. Evidently there is something bigger than mine that at $399. I may use the listing you gave me it is about the same as others from different warehouse's. I saw one for $227 but don't know if it is trusted site. Two or three bucks either way I can handle. Thanks to everyone! Yeah! At Christmas time it sucks to find that money extra!

Thats sucks, the original terrova remotes had some kinda glitch, I forget what he said but it started acting up at a big tourney on Kentucky lake in fall 2014, while there they had the sales rep there I told him about it, and he told me how to temporarily fix it but would send me a new version, when I got home it was in the mail box, I’m shocked they won’t stand behind there seal, anything you use for fishing thats electronic should be waterproof!! I’m certain that there remotes are rated waterproof too. Was the screws not tight or the rubber seal damaged?

Seal is not damaged and screws holding the battery cover were tight. The eight smaller screws around the screen facing are very tight. I ordered the remote last night that Joe posted. Found out this morning that Brain could do free shipping and get me a few dollars less but to late and it's great he could try to help but I'm not losing but a couple of bucks. Thanks to everyone for your help. Rice is not working this morning either. I'll have parts if I ever need a housing or screen.
