Well, looks like I'm gonna have to make a "scouting" trip to check out my lake before I can fish it. It wont be the first time Ive ever done that though.

Fished not far from broad river yesterday. Water temp 65 deg. Backs of creeks still stained . Lot of bait. Perch and small stripers killing my crappie jigs. Best crappie 15" and weighted 1.79lbs.

    Sorry Butch, just saw this......
I've been spending my broad river time replacing the decking on my dock. I don't have the temp but the water is getting lower by the day and clearer by the day.
I'll be there all next week and will get the temp for you. If you come down, i'll be working on the dock in the cove on the left above the campground. You can't miss mine, it's the only one with new boards!

Didn’t quite get the dock finished. But did get you guys a temp. When I left today at noon, the temp was 47.6. Quite a few gulls are showing up on the sandbars so it won’t be long till the Striper bite should turn on.

That's a huge difference from above the 378 bridge. It was 58 around lunchtime today. Started at 57.1 at dawn. I am sure it will fall even more this week.

I’m not 100 sure my thermometer is accurate. It’s an old Minn Kota portable I dug outta the mothballs. My dock thermometer was not there when I arrived last week the cord looked like a critter had chewed it in two.

Dang woodchucks! Clark Hill Lake-Broad River

We come down a few times a year and stay at Bobby Browns, We fished up the Broad River last spring, it was crowded with boats. You live down there now or just have a place to. We live in Lincolnton, not far from where you are from. Will have to look for your new dock boards when we come down next month and then again around Easter.
