Going down Thur. for a few days on Lake Wateree, will see if anything is biting. Lake should be below flood stage by then. We are going to try.
Back in '09 the plant I worked for closed so I retired then. I was only 53 or so. I painted the house and all adjacent barns, retainer walls, etc. I removed all the trees in the front yard and did all the landscaping. I had a lot of work inside I wanted to do so that was done.
Long story short....I stayed "retired" about 3 years and I was READY to go back to work. I literally got BORED. I had finished all my projects. I hunted and fished all I cared to. Then I became a couch potato. I just had too much energy and nothing I wanted to do. Everybody I associated with was working so there was nobody to do stuff with.
At 65 I have slowed. I think I can take life in a much slower lane. My intentions is to mow a few lawns a couple days a week to give me something to do and the extra spending money might be nice too. That'll leave me plenty of time to hunt, fish, and relax. And yea, I'm sure the Mrs will want me there with her to do things around the house as well as going places. At my age now I think I'm really starting to think I like the idea of retiring. And if it's STILL boring I'm sure I can have my old job (my current one now) back anytime I want it. Time will tell. I hope to fall into the ranks when I can say, "I don't see how in the world I did what I have to do now and still had time to work." HA!
sounds like a plan GBM hope you well with it. that was sort of my thinking but in my
74-75 and dang near 76th year things kinda started falling apart on top of all the work hear and wateree it seems like I cant catch up lol. hopefully by middle of January they will have me cut open patched up and put back together good enough to do a little fishin next spring. maybe can come down and fish with you a time or two, would love to do that sometime when you got an open seat.

Remus, I wish you well with your upcoming surgeries. Youre always welcome to come fish with me as I usually fish by myself. There's better fishermen than me to fish with though for sure. I really don't have a clue where to fish right now because I haven't fished that much. I'll probably go fishing a few more times before the first of the year though but for now I'm still chasing them deers. HA! Done got pretty picky too as my freezer is almost full. Still bow hunting 'em as I don't want to make it too easy now. It's still a long season until early January.
