    Default New Ride

Been a while coming, but I was finally able to upgrade from the Jon boat to this rig. Its a 2008 Stratos 386 FX with a Evinrude 150 ETEC in like new condition. 18' 6" long with a 99" beam. Its roomy, comfortable, and stable and thats what I was looking for. It will make a good family boat in the summer and a crappie fishing rig fall through spring. Got to get my rod holders and electronics installed. This boat opens up a lot more water for me to fish now. Can't wait to start pulling some jigs.

One nice thing about the boat is it has snap in carpet on the floor. Carpet will come out during fishing season, then back in for the family in the summer. The boat came with a little Humminbird 323 with an in hull transducer. Its just a small black and white sonar unit that is 83 or 200 khz. Any idea what I might can put in its place and still use the in hull transducer. Would like a small 5 inch sonar/gps unit in its place. I have a Simrad 7 I will also be adding to the boat.
