    Default Its cooling off.......

Any one fishing, any reports to share. I'm very curious to see will there be any extra boat traffic this fall since no spectators or tailgating at games will be going on. How many people will hit the woods also. I would like to get in a trip before Oct. I plan on the 1st 2 big does I can get I'll take and fish the rest of the fall. How about you.

Not fishing much at all for myself. I am thinking deer season too! I got clear cut this past season and will have to hunt at longer distances. I hope I can draw one off the property over by my stand. I'll put about 1,000 lbs. bag of cobb corn out and if that don't work then I'll have to find a road kill . Boat traffic will drop down most likely. Foot ball fan will be glued to the tv. Night stalks will get more time from me.

I've hit up Lake Marion a few times. Went the last few Fridays and this past Saturday. Have caught about 10-15 each trip. Single pole jigging on some brush in 15-20 feet of water. All between sun up and 9am. It has been getting hot quick and the water temp jumps from 84° to 87° quick. That's when they shut off for me.

Here's a few pictures. Glad they are starting to thicken up for the winterName: IMAG0356-01.jpg

Never caught the hunting bug, so I'll be chasing those crappies 12 months a year without a pause. Been doing outstanding on brush throughout this hot summer, but I'm ready for October and those roving schools of slabs that make fall trolling so much fun! (But I'll wait til these heavy rains and 15 mph winds get through!)

The next time I'm at Calhoun Falls may I ping you for some pointers? My step-Dad was born and raised in Elberton. His son's still own the farm or maybe a piece of it. That's some pretty country!
