Default Kinda New to the Board

Hello All, as that title says I am kinda new to the board. Rock Hill born and raised, 34 years old and grew up fishing Wylie and wateree for crappie mostly. Fished with dad out of deep v growing up, but haven’t fished much of the last decade with work, wife, and kids. Decided with alll that is going on in the world I should go back to basics and get myslef a boat and do things my way. Bought this beauty on Craigslist about a week ago, 24 ft toon with a 60hp mercury on it, boat was sold as if the motor would never run, but I like a challenge. This will be the first of many posts to show the boat project and hopefully some fall crappie in the near future.

Welcome to the board and good luck with the project. I also fish out of a pontoon that I rebuild to fit my style of fishing.

Thanks, my dad and I actually fished a night stalk with y’all about 7 years ago on wylie. I won a rod for guessing the closest to the biggest fish weight. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old both boys that will be ready to watch some rods with me.

For those that fish out of big toons what size trolling motor, shaft length, and battery setup, I mostly will be trolling minnows in morning hours and anchoring brush for night stalks. But might start experimenting with trolling jigs as I get my setup going. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

I've got a 54" 80 lbs and wish I had a 120 lbs. I got the ulterra and love being able to launch, park the boat away form the dock and call it back after I park the truck. Several others have the same thing.
Get onboard chargers to keep the batteries alive. I've got two two bank chargers two batteries for the troller, one starting battery and one for lights bait tank etc.

Welcome aboard! Keep us up on the rebuilding job. Lot of folks here have done rebuilds. So any questions just ask. Keep check on the board cause we always got some kind of outing in store. Check The Clash up in the top of page. Come on in the waters fine.
