    Default A Late Report But....

...heres the skinny on my weekend of fishing.

Saturday I hit the lake @ 7AM and fished until 11AM. I caught a total of 70 crappie but in the last hour of fishing I only caught 5 with only a couple big enough to keep. Total I kept was 23 fish. It was a pretty good mix of white and black crappie. Lots of "3 finger" fish biting but there were some good ones caught too. Here's a couple pictures from Saturday...

Sunday I decided on trying a different area of the lake so I was at the ramp at first light and was fishing by 6:30AM. Like Saturday the fish were eager to bite. It musta took me close to 10 minutes (exaggerating I but lts just say "fast and furious") to get all my lines in the water due to fish biting so fast and hard. It seemed I would pull over hotspots and rods would start bouncing then at times all would be quiet for a few minutes. I think parts of the creek was "dead" to the fish because the food they were feeding on just wasn't there. When I'd run over shad the rods would get bit. Dunno. Anyway, finished with a total of 86 crappie caught with 27 making the ride home. Here's a couple pics from Sunday...

That's getting it done Butch I don't mind catching the small fish as it tells us the lake is doing good and so are the crappie. Couple of nice slabs you are holding.

Great report hopefully this rain and cool days will keep those fish in place for the holiday weekend. I think I'm going to go Saturday night.

THat is a crazy amount of fish to catch! Especially by yourself. I would need about 4 trips to catch that many total as you did in one day. lol. But, i am far from accomplished at catching crappie.
