have they sad what day it will be
I just saw an article stating there's a good possibility of flood gates opening at Hartwell next week. Once that occurs, the dams on down the chain will have to do the same. Be careful as there will be an enormous amount of current to contend with.

This is boat ramps at Soap Creek and Hamilton branch state park yesterday.
Notice water is much clearer down the lake on Clarks hill as usual where the bite was good also.
I have been on Clarks hill when the currents in little river Georgia side started moving like a river and the bite shut off also.
As stated be careful on the water and watch out for floating debris.
As info Lake Greenwood river fork ramp debri will be cleared out Tuesday by Laurens county.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
Done a bit of riding and looking around the upper end of Clarks Hill today and everywhere I went you would need atleast hip boots to get on the docks if you wanna stay dry. And I'm not too sure you'd stay dry at that ramp on Soap Creek. A lot of places I looked you could see a few inches deep (at the ramp) and it didn't look like churning chocolate milk so I'd say it's fishable. Didn't see a lot of floating debris either. Now...……...a bit warmer temps, no more rain, and definitely no high winds and I'll be ready to hit it!

Me and a buddy put some brush out on Clark's Hill today. Water is definitely high and muddy. More rain coming this week so it will likely go higher. The main lake is the dirtiest I have ever seen it. A few creeks we went in actually had slightly clearer water. A few years ago the lake got about 2 feet higher than now but that was when they opened all of the floodgates on the dam.

Just an FYI, but Clarks Hill is now very near 334 ft elevation or 4 feet over full pool. Be careful if you are going up (or down) that way. The river below the lake is very high already and if the lake hits 335, they will likely still have to open the flood gates at Thurmond Dam. More rain expected next week. Whoever has been doing the rain dance needs to take a break.
Seen on the news that the river below Thurmond is flooded. Opening the gates will only make things worse for them but they ill have to do what they have to do I know. . I hope all these high waters don't wipe anyone out. I just wanna fish.

It is a balancing act right now but I think the Corps consider 335 to be full flood storage at Clarks Hill. I know when it got to that level before, it was just inches from most of the electrical disconnect boxes on most docks that are at a required level. They opened all of the flood gates and it was quite a sight. Hopefully the rain will cooperate so they can keep from flooding everything out downstream anymore than it already is.
