Muddy water question?
What do crappie typically do in muddy water conditions?
Assuming lots of flow in the creeks, they hide from current? Find brush? Head to the bottom? School behind points?

I know they will get under docks and are easier to catch more than you think. Got to get the color right on the jig or Chartreuse attack trained minnow that Remus trains only in times like now.They will hold to something until it gets clearer. You may have to bump them in the head to get them to bite, But you can get them Brett! Most people won't mess with muddy water thinking they won't bite. After it settles down some try it out yourself.
You got the advantage, you got live scope remember!

Come to think of it last year about March I fished an awful muddy cut in the south fork and I caught 7 or 8 dandy fish under one particular floating dock in only 5 ft of water. Solid chartreuse of course lol. Thanks for helping me jog my own memory lol!Originally Posted by BigDawgg

This time of year with the mild weather and high water fish shallow. They will follow the water to blow downs and shallow docks.

I remember using a red head and yellow hair jig with white wings and catching the devil out them under Judge Fletcher Lumpkins dock and boat house. 18 foot deep under there and a couple of oak bush piles on the corners of the dock. All you did back then was just walk the edge of the dock slowly and lift your jig up and down real slow along the edges. Find the magic depth and you were in business. Sometimes a white jig worked too! Didn't know about shooting docks back then. But this worked better for me! But this was mid sixty's and early seventies and had permission to be there!
