Smile SC Crappiefest date - more to come

Guys, the SC spring Crappiefest will be Saturday April 11, 2020 at Russell B State Park and will be using shelter 3 (the one we have always used).

I will put more together next week but I wanted to list the date so everyone can start making plans to attend. I do apologize for the short post as I am dealing with some of life's hard times and I would appreciate prayers for a friend and his family.

I do look forward to seeing and spending the day with old friends and new ones that will be made within our Crappie.com family.

Well, atleast I don't have to work many weekends anymore so hopefully I'll get to come. Planning on it anyway.

A buddy and I were interested in attending the SC CRAPPIEFEST at Russel and called to reserve a campsite, but found out that all campsites are reserved for the several days around that date. Are there any other camping facilities close to the area. I guess this only a one day affair, but if we drive that far we would like to fish several days to make the drive worth while. Are there any motels in the area??? Please provide any info you have about lodging. Thanks

Been a while but I stayed in Elberton Ga. The hotel had dozens of 120 volt hookups and parking for boats and vehicles. Also found a seafood place called Reds Seafood I think. It was excellent, even had frog legs on buffett.
Butch will have to jog my memory of the hotel, but it was in town. One of the economy chains but more than adequate.

PS. Have to tell story on myself. I had just bought my IPilot and they were just coming on the scene brand new technology. I was too nervous to leave on boat so I disconnected it and carried that heavy a$& thing up the stairs to my hotel room. LOL only time I ever did that.
