Tried trolling for a while and only got 1 Crappie. Decided to vertical fish brush and got 18. Changed location trolled again and got 1. Change location and tightlined and got 0!! Fished the original brush again and got 14. Starting to realize I suck at trolling. Main channel was clear around B Boyd. Crowder is muddy all the way to the river channel. I know the S Fork is red muddy so don’t know how long the channel will be clear. Also the water temp. last week was 50 deg. today it was 57. Check out this Crappie don’t know what tried to eat him but it didn’t stop him from biting. Name: IMG_1294.jpg

crappie are picky about that stuff, there is something different about that other tree that they dont like, i have seen it many times. I have put piles in and they load up on it and I decided to put another one right beside it, thinking it would be twice as good...wrong! It will mess the hole location up some times.

Nice catching Doug! Glad you were able to hook up on some fish. Seems brush piles is the way to go right now. Don't look like we going to get to 45* water this year. I like tight lining but that's going to be tough if they don't get out of the brush. You should enter your picture in one of the contest, you may get lucky and win something. If not at least the crappie will get to be well know!
