    Default 3 days fishing

But not much catching. Went to Monticello Wednesday and jigged for perch. Harry tagged along and had minnows which helped some. We sorted through about 3 dozen to keep 9 decent ones. A Loon set up shop behind the boat and ate 5 or 6 when we threw them back. The perch were alive and kicking but didn't stand a chance against a dive bombing Loon.
Friday found us on Murray on the upper end at Clouds Creek
Kept around 18, no Loon entertainment though.
Today I took another friend, Steve, to Murray and fished Bear Creek, which according to John and Ron, doesn't exist.
No luck on perch so I started throwing a minnow under a cork. Steve noticed a bunch of Loons diving behind us so I swung around, grabbed a plug out of my box and got a hit 1st cast but didn't hook up. 2nd cast and fish on. Landed a nice 22" fat Striper. it took me quite a while to remember the name of the lure. It was a Bayou Boogie, y'all remember them?
And that, my friends , was the only fish we hooked.
My phone camera is messed up so no pictures, you'll just have to take my word for it.

Glad you got out to do some fishing and caught some. I wanted to go but I am fighting the same thing you were with back trouble. Was crawling under the house trying to find an electrical problem. Did not find it.

Better keep that lure out of sight! They are hard to find now that they don't make them any more. Bayou Boogie was and is a great bass lure! I got several put away in my gun cabinet. My uncle use to catch big bass in the local ponds and lakes around here. We used them at Cedar creek with a jig tied on the back hook for white bass in the mouth of the creek when they were schooling. Ray you need to give me your tackle box, I bet you got some good lures in there. I promise to hold on to it for you!
    Another memory jogger!

You know Ron, when I was fighting the fish it occurred to me they may not make them anymore. Back when there were big White Bass runs in Santee that was a hot plug so I've had it since the early 80s.
It occurs to me that half my tackle is antique or darn near it.

Seems like we are all dealing with back issues. Mr Cromer told me he had an epidural this week and it didn't help.

Ray, I'm doing one this coming Wednesday. The last one I had about 9 months ago or so did really help. I do hope this one works as well.

Thanks for the tip Don. I checked the Pico website . This sure looks like the old Bayou Boogie.
They didn't have all colors displayed but I had a light shad color one and a couple of the descriptions sound close to mine.
Here's one I copied to show shape of plug.
    What ya'll think?
