Later on I switched to fishing jugs for catfish so I sold that tackle box and lures and gave plenty more away. It's very doubtful that I could find a single bass lure around here anymore but I know I had the ones you showed....and can remember fishing them so I know I had to have caught fish on them. For top water I loved fishing a hula popper and a jitterbug (if anyone remembers those).

    Thanks for the memories.
    Nice set of plugs Ray!!
Butch back in those years I use to fish a lot of ponds as well. We used a 6'' black worm with white dots, best worm I have ever used and can't find the anymore. Why stop making something that worked so well. Lake bass must not like them??

You are right about why stop making lures when they work so well. Hedden lures like the Sonic and Pumpkin seed and Bayou Boogie were our favorite go to plugs in the ponds and larger lakes. Tiny Torpedo is still tops for top water. The worm you are talking about brought many big bass to us. Looked like a Salamander bumped slowly on the bottom. Man those were the days of good fishing. Thanks for jogging the old brain!

I remember those too Stump. We used to double rig 'em with gold hooks on leaders. The front hook went at the nose of the worm and the second hook was 2/3rds the way back. We put a bend in the worm and tied the back leader to the eye of the front hook and used a swivel as the worm would twirl and looked like a snake swimming when retrieved. Bass couldnt resist it.
