Great idea Ray,
The split tubing used to protect exposed wiring is really rough on my arthritic thumbs. Pushing wire in a 15 ft run just about killed my hands. I tried using a small flat blade screwdriver to open the tube ahead of the wire and it helped some but still hard on my thumbs.
After pondering this I made a tool to help out and boy did it make a difference. I can zip a 5-10 ft run in seconds. Why I never tried this through all the boats I've run wire in is beyond me.
Simple tool took minutes to make and worked like a dream.
Just place wires in loop, start wires in tube and pull the tool down the slit as you hold the tube in other hand. It helps to lay the tube on a flat surface and press the tool in as you pull.
Easy peasy.

That is genious. I wish you had posted this about 3 months ago when I was running my Panoptix wire into the coil hose from Corn Field Crappie. It's about 50 times worse than that flex tubing because its such thick heavy material. I had to use a heat gun to make it pliable and then a flat tip like you mentioned to open the slit. Your tool would have been fantastic.
