    Default Funeral Boat

My wife threatened me with bodily harm after my last boat swap. After long consideration of all the pros and cons, I decided to go back to a stick steer setup. This is the most comfortable setup for some of my friends and it is a very fishable setup. Main drawback is a rough ride, however this boat has a more pronounced v-hull than the Duracraft I had and I've had it out on Murray in near whitecap conditions and it is surprisingly smooth.
It's a 16' Weldcraft with a 50 Tohatsu motor. I moved my IPilot and seat to it and a few other tweaks. Basically a new boat, motor had 15 hours on it when the deaker did the break in service.
I called it my funeral boat because I hope it will serve me for rest of my fishing days. Also I'm pretty sure my wife will indeed kill me if I try to change again. We've been in our house for 12 years and this is my 5th boat so she does have a point.

My next rig I'm gonna look hard at the stick steering boats, my 1st one was (homemade) and I loved it... looks great and a whole lot more stabile than that fish hawk for sure. I hop you wear that one out and have to by many more...

Nice boat, I’ve always liked the stick steer concept.

Many many fish were pulled into my stick steer boat. The ride is hard but they are good fishing boats.
