    Default Wateree help?

I have fished wateree many times, but always for striper. Thought about trying it Saturday for crappie. I put in at clearwater marina landing. Thought about long lining. Any tips on where to try, depth right now, colors, etc. is greatly appreciated. Marked a lot of bait in the cove there last week so though I would try there first.

Hate to hear that. I really like pulling cranks or jigs. May have to fish brush if they are. Thanks for the info.

Looks like the rain is headed up from the south and it would be a wet morning on Wateree so I think I will head north to High Rock tomorrow. I have a meeting in Pageland Monday until about 10 or so then thought about heading over to Wateree. Hope to be fishing by 11. All my fishing buddies will be working so I will have an empty seat in the boat if any of you Wateree veterans want a free fishing trip shoot me a pm.

Do you catch many black crappie with cranks? I've always heard whites bite them better and never seen a white come out of Wateree. I have caught blacks on crankbaits in a pond bass fishing though, so no doubt they'll hit it.

This time last year they were over brush in the mouth of Wateree Creek if you wanna go to the other side of the lake. I'm on the Fairfield side and might go cruising/fishing Sunday/Monday if it's not flooded. I expect it to be though. Probably do some catfishing off a dock.

Blacks will hit the cranks if chasing bait. At high rock I catch more blacks than whites on cranks but there are more blacks in the lake. Of the really small crappie I tend to catch more white.
