The diamond pattern on their sides is a dead giveaway.

I think the jaw line difference also would help me. My problem with colors is that it can vary so much depending on the water they came from. The diamond pattern and the jaw difference should make it easy for me. Now I need to go catch some.
If I read you guys correctly you are thinking the Crappie will move out into the channels as it cools down and long lining will be effective, correct?
    PS
Butch I have never seen the Crappie pattern in channels on Murray like the ones you showed me at Clark Hill. I have had better luck on Greenwood and Secession long lining.

Ray, longlining and tight lining will be good very soon! I like tight lining a lot more than longlining in close area's. Turning around especially!
