David, look for them suspended over the brush 25 - 40 foot. I don't know nothing about your lake as you can remember the first and last time I was there. Our specialist up here got 53 the other morning over brush and they are around 25 - 40 foot deep. Fish were much higher though. Night time has been fairly good here with them not so deep. You need to move up here! But you'd have to give up on stripers, white bass and fishing deeper water than we have. I hope you will do good. You due a good time!

Of I miss it sorry which lake
David,
Just saw your message. Maybe you'll be able to read this before you go. Brushpile fishing can be really hard to predict. BigDawgg's friend is catching them high over 25-40 ft brush. I'm wearing them out on two piles. One is sitting in 17 ft of water and one is in 8 ft! And the water temp at the 8 ft pile was 85.5! Also know that you can fish two brushpiles of the same size, in the same depth water, and wear them out on one and struggle to catch a single fish on the other! It just takes persistence and knowing where a bunch of piles are located! (No better way to store a pile of brush waypoints than to go out and spend a day looking especially during severe droughts on Hartwell) But once you've found a good one, it'll produce incredible numbers of fish over a long period of time.
Here's a couple of pics of fish caught on brush this week (the stripers peeking out were caught on live herring first thing in the morning).
