Default Probably the last Murray trip

Went out on Saturday morning for one last Striper run. Marked suspended fish on a hump in 35'. Wasn't long and we had the first 2 in the boat. Saw some come up on top but the wouldn't eat anything on top water. Had some really soft bites later on that led to missed fish. Ended the day with 3 and one random channel cat. Slow for us today too. We only caught 3 and all were really small 12"-14". I need Tom to get back from Texas and show me where to fish.

Yea all of ours were smaller fish than we had been catching. Probably gonna be chasing cats on Wylie this Saturday, then shooting doves on Monday!!!

I'm trying to convince myself to drive 100 miles to our dove field or chill out at home. Was originally going to cabin for long weekend but my buddy's daughter is having surgery then so he is tending to that. Not sure I want to go by myself. Where are you shooting?

Ray did you try Shull Island? Did you not see Comalander out there? He's been catching them. A buddy found them in there the other just wouldn't bite well. I'm hoping he's going Monday morning but Monday afternoon I'm either deer hunting or dove hunting. I'm nervous to take my boat don't trust transom

We tried Shull, saw the most boats there but we only caught last of the 3 short fish there. Only saw 1 other caught while we were there.
We started out in Comalander's hole but they weren't there like Friday when I caught myself and had to go to Urgent Care.

We have a field at my parents farm in Saluda that we shoot each year. Probably wont be that great this weekend with it being an afternoon shoot. That field seems to hold more birds in the mornings since it sits over a pond.

Striper fishing has been flat terrible the last 5-10 days! Very few fish caught. DEAD striper floating all around from Spence islands and down. Also saw a few uplake above Dreher island too. I dont think these are released fish. I think they are dying due to low oxygen levels. Barely caught any fish over the 4 days i was out this past weekend. Didnt hear of many being caught either.

I think you are probably right about the low O2 levels. The thermocline seemed to set higher this year and as a result you saw more fish being caught higher in the column than most years. Just as a side note what was the water temps this week? I ended up on Norman Saturday morning and saw 91.7 at 10:30 fishing in 20-30FOW.

Water was 82.7 at daylight. Saw 85 by the end of each day.
