    Default Hard day on Monticello

Well I promised a different trip today and it was not ony different but difficult. We were on Monticello before sunrise and we hit several spots before we finally got a perch to hit. I got one on a Berry's Spoon then Tom got a couple on a multi jig setup. My 2nd fish was a decent LM then I started started catching really small Bluegill followed by 2 really small catfish. Tom caught the rest of the perch. After I got the 1st one I was done catching perch. All mine were caught on the blue spoon in the picture.
Barely enough for a good meal, but better than skunk.
Sure different from having 6-10 nice Stripers by 8 AM.
We called it a day at noon. Any day on the water beats not being on the water I guess.
I didn't think I could catch a smaller Bluegill than the first one but I was mistaken.

Looks like a nice supper for two. Tough, but successful.

OK yes a hard day but it beat what I did....I spent most of the day scrubbing the dirt off the top of the Motorhome..what a mess. Gas mileage should improve tho

Grady, our MH had a fiberglass roof and I washed it one time and realized I was standing on a sloped sheet of ice. When we were full timers we would use the Blue Diamond and other truck car washes at Pilot and Flying J. It only cost about $25 to tun through and you can add extras like wax occasionally. If you do that regularly it will keep it pretty clean and a lot safer than walking around on top.
I discovered some time ago that I don't bounce when I fall !

Ray, We have the rubber roof so it's easy to walk, with just a little slope to the sides. It's just getting up there and back down without falling

In retrospect I should have kept those too. That size is really good fried whole. From what I hear Monticello is loaded with big catfish. I'm surprised we haven't hooked a big one bouncing those spoons on the bottom.
When you guys coming down to fish it?

Fished Monty last week with Raccoon. He did poorly while I did fair. Fished Monty last Saturday in July with my friend and we did really good. Friend got one that went 10 lbs and my pb for the day was 2lbs. No perch however.
