    Default Sun warning

Just a heads up guys. Many of my golfing buddies have had to have skin cell cancers cut off their face, neck, and arms. Now it finally found me. My skin on back of my hands is really thin, a product of age and sun.
Couple of weeks ago I noticed a bump on my hand. I thought it was maybe a splinter that had gotten infected but after a week of cream and bandaids it was still there. Looked like a wart or cyst, not big at all.It just turned dark it was light and barely noticeable.
I had my Doctor look at it and it is a Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Got appointment with Dermatologist to have removed.
Check yourself regularly for this stuff. Had mine been somewhere less visible I may never have noticed it.
I've invested in a pair of HUK fishing gloved and they are surprisingly comfortable to wear. Just don't handle fish and put them in a pouch without washing them. Pew! Attachment 352204

Don't forget the buff. As my dermatologist told me, "Guard your face."

Good stuff Ray, but as most know, once your old enough to know better the damage has already been done.

Ray thanks for bring this matter up to warn people. I have had 6 places cut off in the last year and a half. It's to the point that I have to go to Anderson Skin & Cancer every 6 months to be checked and on each trip they are finding new places. The face is the hardest place to deal with. Have had two removed and each place it took a big cut to get the roots. It can be a real big problem if not caught soon enough. You young guys and girls take care be safe while outdoors as you may not think much about it now but as you age it can show.

I have had over 100 skin cancers removed from me. 72 years of sun damage. I use a lot of sunscreen and other things, but it6 is to late when they show up! CHECK YOURSELF WEEKLY!
