Default What a difference a day makes

We took my buddy, Harry's CC out Monday along with Tom that I've been fishing with since this boat can handle 3 of us. We tried everything we could to get a Striper, ending up with 1 puny fish about 18".
Got a call from Tom this morning about 7:45 and he was done. Had a nice 5 fish limit in the cooler. Same guy, same place, same technique except the fish were biting and Monday they weren't.
Hope to try them again Friday. I'm gonna have to shell out $20 for 1 of the 6.5" Flutter Spoons because that's what he has caught the last 7-10 fish using. Sheesh, if it hangs up I'm going in after it.Name: image000000.jpg

Dang, don't tell me they are back on the 6.5" spoon. It was a hot spoon for me about 4 weeks ago but haven't caught one on it since. I don't even have one rigged up right now. I have 6 rods rigged with smalller spoons, now I'm going to have to rig a 7th with the 6.5"...LOL

Did your buddy mention what depth? That seems to be the biggest factor for me, figuring out what depth to look week to week. Once I figure that out I usually can get them to eat someting.

@SeaRay Cabelas had their brand of flutter spoons on sale the other week for $5 for a 5" and $7 for a 6.5". Don't know if you have a Cabelas nearby, but its a lot better than $20 for one.

Love the pics, especially the cap on the ice bottle "Do Not Drink"!! I'm thinking if I get hot and thirsty enough, I might have to take a swig!

Bass pro/ Cabelas has the flutter jack version of the $20 spoons and they work well for 1/3 the cost. You'll need to add a good quality swivel and super sharp hook to maximize your hookups. (if lost you won't be so tempted to dive 50 feet)

I think Tom uses the same trick I use. If you put salt in the water it lowers the freezing point of water and will stay colder and frozen longer but it's not to good for drinking once it thaws.
Unfortunately we don't have a Cabela's or BPS within 70 miles of us. Academy Sports and Sportsman Warehouse only had the $20 Nichols spoon. Don't know if Dicks has them but if they do they can keep'em!

That's a nice looking catch and yes the note on the bottle may be a trick or maybe not
