Default How to get new electronics , and fish more

    Problem:

you want new electronics for your boat but its just getting more and more expensive. Wife may not like the idea. Plus you need more time for fishing

    Here's the plan. (Follow precisely)

Day 1. Start complaining about your current setup.
Just pretend to be a little angry about it.

Day 2. Mention you saw some great deals for "middle of the road " electronics at ..........
IMPORTANT! Keep a close eye on her. Little reactions are very important here.
(Eye rolling, sighing, a 5 seconds pause with no movement) EVALUATE SITUATION!

Day 3. VERY CRITICAL DAY, GET IT RIGHT!
You tell her you understand why she might think buying boat stuff is a bad idea. Blah blah blah....

Say this," Honey, i figured out how to get what I need and not cost us much".
How? "By selling off a lot of tools and stuff i don't need anymore."

    THIS IS THE CRITICAL MOMENT

Try and avoid specifics. "Just stuff that's sitting around " . Now.. Get the heck out of the room!

    Day 4.
Order EVERYTHING you want. Get it all at once.

Put every darned hammer, nail, drywall tool, weed eater, shovel, pic, rake, drill, router, tablesaw, bandsaw, planer, Everything you never want to use again on Facebook marketplace.
    AND MOW THE YARD TODAY!

Day 5. Put that mower on Ebay, Craigslist, something and sell it when the wife is away for a few hours.

Day 6. Electronics arrives, Hide It!

Day 7-12 , Wait!!!! Don't do anything. Wait

Day 13. Hire a lawn service. Get ready to spring the trap!
"Why do we need a lawn service???" she says.
"I sold the mower" blah blah blah.....
" How much do they charge "
    "$70 a week" you say.

    CRITICAL MOMENT!

"That's way too much " she says.
You, "well i can go get a brand new John Deere for thousands or we can just try it for a while "
" Remember you agreed i should sell off all the stuff laying around the garage " . She's mad but.....

Day 14. Install your brand new , latest electronics, and you have more time for fishing! NO MOWER.

Day 15. Apologize for your lack of communication skills. Make dinner, vacuum the house, wash cars.

    YOU PULLED IT OFF!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS

Good luck Brett! I have been trying this for a long time. I have waited over three years to get a new depth finder for Christmas from the wife. I have that yard service you are talking about and no tools. I have two sons to take them free. I have been chancing the lottery every once in a while. Just playing for the small amounts hoping not to hit it big because I know I'll not get anything then. Your plan sounds good for a younger fellow who can handle bruises. Being the Marine that you are I hope the wife can't out maneuver you without you buying her a new car!

That might work for new electronics but I need a new motor to replace my old "64 Evinrude 9.5 that never starts when it's below 60 degrees! Wife says we gotta pay off the house before I get a new $3000 outboard! Geez. Good luck out there guys!

just do what they do. Look honey, I bought this new livescope for my boat. It only cost $4500. Pause.pause. Wait for smoke. Then say, I only paid $2500. Look I saved $2000, lets go out tonight since we saved so much.
