    Default 3 day pond trip

Went up to Charlie's cabin 1st part of week. We managed a decent mess of bream and bass but this trip I only got 1 Crappie. I think they are holding in deeper water but there is so much cover in the lake they could be anywhere. Here are a few pictures.
One thing I look forward to is the lunch crowd that joins us one day each trip. This is my boyhood home and while Charlie is several years younger than me I knew most of these guys and they knew my dear sister (deceased) and her family. I only have 1 niece still living here and it a sweet trip back to my roots each time I visit. Name: 20190709_181742_HDR-1.jpg

I learned a couple of things on this trip too! One was using heavy poultry shears to cut the heads off bream that we cook whole. One quick snip and the head went into a bag for a catfish trip for a couple of the guys.
2nd thing was just puppies. I usually don't fool with them but they do go well with a fish fry.
One of the guys brought frozen ones and they were really good. Never been a fan of the frozen ones but these were made with sweet corn and were delicious. He got them at Food Lion so I'll pick up a bag for my next fry.
It's says bakes in minutes but of course we deep fried them for a quick minute or twI. Name: 20190709_194903.jpg

Even in all this heat it looks like you still had a lot of fun. Congrats to the whole group!
