Default Help I need a good Suzuki mechanic

Does anybody know a good Suzuki mechanic. I have had my pontoon in the shop for 8 weeks and spent $2,000. And it still will not run past 3000 rpm. When it hits 3000 it acts like it goes in limit mode to limit it from over reving. I am frustrated and at wits end. Called does marine which is a Suzuki dealer and they said call them back in September. I have a trailer and will drive to georgia or North Carolina to take it somewhere that will fix it. I have ordered a new limit switch to see if that works.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

They don't sell Suzuki, but go to Wilson's in Newberry ask for Kevin, he's the only one that works on my motors, and I'm almost 2 hrs away. Also there's a place in Orangeburg that sell Suzuki, but I've never had any dealing with them or there service dept.

Thanks stumpjumper I will give Wilson a call. Orangeburg is where it has been.

I have a Suzuki now but my old boat had a Johnson 2 stroke, separate tank for gas and oil. I had a problem with the old boat like you described and it was a review limiter. The low oil sensor went bad and we unhooked the wire from it and never had a problem

I have to agree with stumpjumper about Kevin at Wilson Marine. I know he is a wizard when it comes to Mercury and they used to sale Suzuki so I am sure he knows something about them too.

I don't know anything about them, but Doss Marine in Chapin sales and services Suzuki. Might be another option for you.
