    Default Watermelons

I learned something new following this new food plan for the past 3 months. I didn't know how to cut up a melon. Growing up in the country where they were a common item in the summer I was surprised to find a much better way to cut one. We eat a lot of fresh fruit on this plan so I did some research on how to best cut up and store.
    Here's what I found:
Cut the melon in half as shown
Turn over and cut off top.
Then remove the rind in sections.
With the outer rind removed its a simple process to shave off the inner white part.Name: 20190628_115240_HDR.jpg

From there you can cut into serving size pieces.
If the lid won't close on your container eat top pieces until the lid will close Name: 20190628_120029.jpg

Pretty slick huh? This also works for cantaloupe and honey dew melons as well.

Wifey cuts ours up like that, and we love it. You do it a little different though, I'll let her know. Thanks for sharing.

No waste. Once you cut the outer rind off, you can shave off the white part down to the ripe part with near zero loss. Secret is to get he hard rind off first then it's easy to just shave off the white part.

You going to be on the hook to come cut ours if I show the wife the way you do it.

I posted a trip to Monticello here then decided it should be a separate post so I moved it, but I can't delete the picture for whatever reason. Anyway the trip post is here: https://www.crappie.com/crappie/sout...thumping-fish/

Never seen it done like that before but it works and that's all that matters. Thanks for sharing.
