Might try that...Thanks for the info
Hey Guys,
I posted this on the main forum but I know some of you have mentioned various diets and health concerns so I thought I'd share the link in case anyone is interested.
I started this with my wife on April 2. I weighed 198 lbs, blood pressure was 150/80 and cholesterol was 202.
My last check up with Doctor in June I weighed 179 lbs, BP was 115/62 and my cholesterol was 175.
The amazing thing about this food plan is I have not been hungry and have not had food cravings at night or between meals. A typical snack for me if I do get hungry is some nuts (NOT PEANUTS, they are legumes} and a banana or orange,
You don't count calories or fat grams or points, you simply eat what is allowed on the plan which includes eggs, meats, potatoes and fresh fruits and vegetables.
What's the catch?
No refined or processed food, no grains, no sugars other than naturally occurring in fruits, no dairy products. There are a number of substitutions you can use that are equally satisfying like hash browns instead of grits.
It helps if you and your spouse are both committed to this as we have been.
It's called "Whole30" and i find it to be much more palatable than the Paleo and Keto diets that are popular right now.

Here is a printable shopping list. I keep it on my cell phone.
Some things I never heard of like Duck Fat, but it adds great flavor to hash browns.
Coconut Aminos is a perfect substitute for Teriyaki sauce, for stir fry chicken which we both like.
We make spaghetti sauce and put over zucchini noodles and it tastes amazingly like pasta. We have that pretty often.
Here's the link to the printable version. I just saved it to my phone. Whole30 Food List: What to Eat and Avoid for Optimal Results | Downshiftology

Ray, I have been using the Nutrisystem for a few months now and it is about portion size and as you said no sugar or white bread products. I lost 50 pounds so far and leveling off is the hard part when you stop losing until your body says okay I'll let you lose some more. Do you think whole 30 will increase weight loss along with the Nutrisystem? I need to lose 75 more pounds to get back to where I am comfortable at 225 lbs. I get plenty of raw vegies and fruit. Rarely use milk or ice cream but I drink lot's of water and tea unsweet. PM me you thoughts!

Do you like the nutrisysyem is it very expensive bank can
No, it won't break the bank depending on your income. I would start with the idea of not staying on it. It cost about the same as buying groceries. Just use it long enough to get the results you need and then learn to buy like items after you stop buying their products. Long run yes it would be costly. Reason being, is you'll get tired of same items and then want to buy different meals plans. It helps if everyone in the family ate similar things that way you won't slip up and indulge on something not on your diet plan. You have to be ready to do it and commit to it for as long as you need to! It does work and I hope you research it and find you can do it and like the food. It does taste pretty good when you are hungry!
You can eat a good meal once a week of your choice as a pleasure to keep you going. Just eating in small portions is the key! Ray's plan would also be a good way to go

Yes, I've been eating bacon eggs and hash browns for breakfast most every day plus steak salad and fruits and veggies.
BUT!!!! If you eat these things and add stuff that's not allowed you will gain weight. I've eaten no grains, breads, dairy products nor anything with sugar added including artificial sweetener.
Bought some shorts Thursday and had to drop 2 sizes from where I was to get a fit.
That being said, what do you care? You probably don't have 5# extra on you unless you've changed since I last
