Had a plan to troll Crowders Ck. Buddy’s motor wouldn’t start at Buster Boyd. So we started out on the trolling motor and made it to a cove after about 45 minutes. First pull we caught approximately 12. The cove was so narrow we had to reel everything in to turn and then throw back out. Every pull a few fish were caught. Most were off the end of docks in 8-16 ft. of water. By 11:30 we had 30 in the cooler. The motor finally started and we planned to try another spot. The motor wouldn’t get up on plane so we turned around and went back in the cove and started casting to the docks. Caught the other 10 to finish our limit and threw another 10 or so back. Learned a valuable lesson today. Sometimes the Lord has something better for us than what we have planned. I’ll remember this day for a long time.

GOOD DAY

Back in the early 90's when I willingly targeted green carp, me and a buddy won a tournament on Badin Lake and never ventured more than 100yds from the landing at Alcoa. Cranked the motor to get off and on the trailer only. At times we all could learn something if we just slowed down and fished.
Glad you caught a really nice mess..

Great report! Once during a striper tournament years ago a friend’s boat motor broke first thing in the morning. We helped them by throwing them a line and pulling them close to the spot they planned to fish. Needless to say they won the tournament by cut bait fishing right where we left them! How it works sometimes.
