    Default Slow day on Secession

Went to Secession to try long lining jigs Thursday. My Grandson made me a friend to keep me company when I fish solo.
Named him Wilson. He did catch one longer than him by the way.
Saw these two oldies from the past on way to lake.
I pulled from 9AM til 2 with 6 crappie and one channel cat for my efforts. Only 3 of the crappie were over 9" so really slow. I went up river from landing for about a mile then came down and past landing another mile. Never cranked the outboard til
    I left at 2.
Several boats were out but no one had done much on crappie.
Still a good day to be on the water. Name: 20190418_091903.jpeg

Nice catch. How was the boat traffic on spring break week on Secession?
I'm going to have to look for calmer waters as Greenwood was like the ocean yesterday trying to shell cracker fish.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

Very little boat traffic. Only saw one jet ski. OK all you gurus, opinions please. The reason I drove 90 miles to Secession is because it is a long liners paradise. We've always done well. The water looked good, light stain and 68-72°
So why so slow? It seems I caught more than the other 2 boats that were crappie fishing so it wasn't me. (though quite often it is)

Gotta take the good with the bad Ray. Looks like Wilson enjoyed just being in your presence with a fish or two a bonus.

Sorry it was slow Ray but look at the bright side at least you get to go and try. I'm sure Mr. Wilson had no complaints.

Nice looking crackers, the bite has been mostly slow from what I’m hearing. The local pros seem to think the new moon is going to be the hot bite this year.
