Yesterday was a holiday from work and my brother in law and I decided we would fish a half day. I picked him up a little after 6 AM and off we went. We made a short drive to the ramp, dropped the boat in, and eased off to our spot. It was barely cracking good light when we were putting poles out. The bite started off slow and the fish acted like they didn't want to eat. After a few bait changes we hung a nice fish that pulled off at the boat. Another 15 minutes passed and we boated a keeper. The bite was slow but steady the rest of the morning. At about 8:15 am we were enjoying ourselves a fresh homemade liver puddin sandwich for breakfast when my rod tip eased down. And just like that we had a great big ole Murray Monster flopping in the net! To be honest, I didn't realize exactly what I had caught until I weighed it and it still took a while to sink in. The best part of the story is that my brother in law dipped it. About 5 years ago he dipped my then PB of 2.65 at Clark's Hill. I topped that fish the next morning with a 2.75. I've been waiting to best those two since that Spring and it finally happened!!! Now, I've got to figure out where "Ole Puddin" is going to go on the wall.
