They should start moving water in anticipation of lots of rain. That may get the bite going
Back out this morning. Wind & cloud cover were just right. Put in at Catawba Park & went out to a point on main channel to catch perch for bait. Had about 25 perch in just a short time. Off to find the cats. A lot of top water activity.
Cats were not to be found. Marked a lot of stuff on main channel about 25' down but only caught 1 flathead(about 20 lbs). May have to try a different lake next time. Tried the mouth of Crowders Creek & Beaverdam creeks but did not get the first bite.
Headed home about 11.
Maybe all the rain that's coming will help?????

Sorry the cats did not want to play
Thanks Mr. Charles glad you made it out. Were the perch of any size? When you say Catawba Park are you referring to Bowaters park on Little Allison? Inquirer mind wants to know!
Dang! I was hoping that you killed them today! I 'm ready to catch a fish ! I was thinking about going tomorrow, but now I dont know what to do! Where did they go? No body has caught them since last monday! Hard to believe they just up and moved out.
All the perch were at the most 6". The Catawba Park is for Duke employee & retirees. It is located on the East side of the plant, on your left as you go up towards Beaverdam on the water.
I put in about 28 years in there before I retired in 2004.
BigDawgg thanked you for this post
Okay! I remember it now. I never called it that. I used it when I worked out there several times. It's a good place to go out from. Middle of everything! Thanks Mr. Charles!
Am I the only guy still hoping to see a crappie in September??

You are a little late. I got one by accident last week looking for perch. Maybe if you tight lined slow along the points and other good hang outs you could be in the money! I hope to get my other boat out and running soon so I can tight and longline blue attach trained minnows.
