    Default Local Lake Big fish!


    As some of you may remember, there is a small lake next to my house. I posted that some big fish came out of it , along with a couple of 3lbs slabs back in spring! Micorps and I have been talking about giving it a try for crappie. He drove Up to the mtns last night and me , him and my son Luke got on the water at daylight. Took us a while to find any fish but we ended up with 12 crappie and about that many yellow perch. Crazy thing is, the first keeper was a 17” monster slab my son caught! I plan to get a replica mount made of this one. Thanks Tim for coming up and showing us how to catch them !

    That a very nice fish indeed. Thanks for sharing the pic. Were y'all using minors or jigs, I know Tims Good using both?

    Minners today. Didn’t try the jigs since it was a first attempt at finding them.

    Yes, 2lbs 8oz and exactly 17 inches. Gonna get a replica mount for him on this one. I guess it would’ve pushed 3lbs back in the spring. Fairly skinny fish.
