Default First week of July report(s)

My birthday(aging will be my downfall this week) was this week so I took some time off to do needed fishn. On 7/2 on my b-day, Pops took me to the usual lake (Cane Creek). It started off slow with 1 nice crappie in the bucket on the trolling grounds and Pops wanted to make it quick because it was gonna get hot. Old age bit me in the rear cause I had a nice crappie on and my knot came untied . Nothing on the trolling grounds and with the "artificial reef" gone, we went to the "pilings". Got set up and started getting into fish. Mix of keepers and dinks. My Pops got into the fish sooner than he expected so he threw some back that he thought were dinks but I think some were actually keeper size ( think he didn't want to quit too soon) Caught enough for dinner.
Later that night and Day After.
My partner in shenanigans the infamous Raccoon, recently got married and his new wife helped him "reorganize" his ranch. So I came down and helped him sort tons upon tons of fishn gear and put what he didn't need in a pile to be "donated." For dinner, he made me an onion and anchovy pizza.
Next morning we went to ole Monty. At the ramp, the Raccoon left the donation pile at the ramp sign, free for anyone needing equipment to enjoy family time together. We fished some and did badly ( i caught fish) . Did meet youtube sensation Steve Collmander. Swam some. Caught a few fish while floating around in a life jacket. The infamous draining current got a hold of me and I nearly drifted into the "forbidden zone" Raccoon panicked when he lost sight of me. Him and his wife got back into the boat and went after me. They got me in a nick of time. Drifted in boat over 100 ft of water and caught 2 kittys at one time on my hi lo rig. Other than that big fat zero. Get chased off by storm. Friend of mine went day after us and did better than us. I have too much in freezer anyways. Here are some pics.Name: monticello storm.jpg

Very kind gesture by your friend, and I love the shot of "two cats for the price of one".

Lots of storms on the water this time of year, and this year especially! Glad everyone was safe!

Getting wet while fishing works for me in this heat. Great idea with the rod donation. I’m sure some lucky anglers were grateful.
