Default Stained water and night fishing

I was planning my first night fishing in years for Clarks Hill on Friday night. With all the rain I heard SC Little River is very muddy. I doubt it would make the fish leave but how much of a factor is water clarity when picking a night fishing location? I was wondering if I should try some of the clearer water creeks down the lake or stick with Little River which tends to always hold fish.

Back when I nite fished I had MUCH BETTER luck in clear water. I assume the bait saw the lights better which brought the fish. I did catch some nite fish in stained waters but with my luck much better in clear water I just stuck with that.

That was my line of thinking too Gabo. Back when we used to catch our own herring for stripers clearer water was always better to draw them in at night unless it was a winter warming trend.

I think I have talked myself into casting and jigging for stripers at Murray instead. KHNC's striper report from Murray the other day was pretty spectacular. I'm hoping the rain in the forecast for Sunday will keep the pleasure boaters away and the stripers popping on top for a while. If not I can usually get them pretty good jigging when they move out mid morning.

I think I'm going to wait on the night fishing till Little River clears up some and it's not raining. Thanks for the help.
