Default Meow That's What I'm Talking About

Left work yesterday evening and on my way home gotta call from my uncle to see if i wanted to go fish for a few hours for some catfish. I quickly obliged and we were on the water by 6:45 and we fished until about 9:45. Biggest one was right at 30 pounds, 6 flatheads and one channel. Made for a great evening after work! Actually caught one of the fish with a small crappie as bait!

If you were in SC it's illegal to use crappie or any gamefish(besides bream) as bait, even more illegal so if it was an undersized crappie.

I didn't know that, I thought it just had to be legal size and counted towards a daily creel limit when it was in your possession, thanks for the info.

Nice post. Congrats on what I KNOW is fun ree, ling in those big cats. I am off work for 3 days beginning Sunday. Cant fish that day but plan on crappie fishing Monday to catch some "bait" (crappie and perch) to do some trolling with planer boards for catfish on Tuesday. It's been awhile since I catfished. I hope I pick the right waters to catch a few. Thinking up river right now....shallow waters...dunno. Any suggestions?!?

We were way up a river in shallow waters, we beached the boat and casted out Into the creek channel. The biggest ones were with fresh cut herring. Good luck! It was a blast I haven't catfished in years but I'm ready to go back now!
