    Default Wasnt Expecting Much...

....but did catch a limit this morning. Matter of fact I put 45 fish in the boat by 12:30. The water temps began at 52* at 8 AM and was all the way up to 55* when I quit fishing at 12:30 PM. No doubt in my mind the fish was headed to the shallows this afternoon but other obligations kept me from fishing all day. Anyway....fished from the mouth of the creek back towards middle ways and caught fish 8' deep until the wind started blowing, then added weight and caught fish 12' deep until I quit. Here's a pic of the fish I brought home.

Turned out being alot better day than I was expecting. All the females still toting their eggs and the males were sporting their colors. BTW, I didn't know we had any black nosed crappies in Clark Hill but to my knowledge today I caught my very first one. It was released to grow. It'll be another week before I get after em again. Go get you some.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

Shoulda took a picture Ronnie. It had a black stripe from it's lips all the way back to the gills running on the very top of it's head. Something new for me too.

Our DNR said they did not stock any in Lake Wylie. CrappieKidd caught one long lining a couple years ago and one was caught this past year out there. How they got here is a mystery! I like the look of these fish. They really stand out with the marking. Someone said they got one on Lake Norman recently also! DNR said they don't think they'll spawn with our black crappie. I hope so!

Great catching and pictures, I needed to see some fish!
