    Default Pontoon update

I have got the pontoon in the shop I thought it was leaking gas. I could see a film on the water when it was running. Shop Called me today and said it was blowing oil out the exhaust. They have to pull the power head to see if it is a blown head gasket or where it is coming from. Compression check was okay so that is a relief. He estimated the bill to be $2500.00 or more.

Ouch, sorry to hear the bill is spending, you havent even got to use it which makes me suspicious of the motivation of the seller, but sounds like that hurts.

Sorry to hear that! Hope it gets fixed and the price was just a quote and it's cheaper than said.

Ouch. Is it worth putting that much into it?

That's the problem buying used, sometimes you are buying someones problems.
Hope it's less of a repair than they are guessing

I feel for you, not I good time of year to have boat trouble. I just found out Wednesday that my lower unit on my bass boat is gone, so I definitely can feel your pain.

I can take it apart for WAY less. But I’ll need someone else to put it back together. See my repair web site.

Seriously, I’m sorry about your problem. Could it be a lower end problem? Was the gear oil cloudy?

Seems the best way would be buying a good Hull with no motor, putting on a new one
