Nice catch Mike that is the way to do it. Thanks for sharing
Took a nice fellow from church and we had some fun. 7:30 on water in Big A. Got setup and start to troll. It was very cloudy and a high fog above us. Had 1/16th jigs at .7 mph. Not sure on color so I had an assortment of bait styles and colors. we were mostly in channel 30 to 35 feet with some fish and bait around 25 feet with suspended fish above the bait. That Garland 2" Baby shad Monkeys milk out-shined them all. I let Kyle catch them all and all hands on deck with big crappie or Kittys. I just sat and navigated.
At first I think more got off then in the boat. Kyle fishes bass with 20 pound braid and was over powering the crappie. Soon he was getting the hang of it learn how to finest the fish in. When to raise the rod tip to get the head up fast and skid them in or lower rod tip to coach them under a line. Kyle had fun learning a different way of catching fish.
Kyle fought 5 kitties from 6 pound to 11.5 pounds. Some nice big perch and two nice 14 inch crappie with throwbacks of 9 inch crappie. One nice Green Carp to round it off.
It Was busy with bass fisherman tournament and did not see one bass caught all day. One fisherman with grandson in boat ask how the crappie were biting because he had caught not one bass.
Other fisherman that was setup professional for long line ask me in Torrance end of our day he said he was catching only kitties and perch. I showed him some nice Crappie that with some luck we caught besides kitties and perch. Not a barn burner day but nice to take someone out and they are not bored to death but having fun catching fish.

Good job again! Did Kyle ask to go again? If he did you got him hooked. Thanks for the report and pictures. I had a good time just reading about your trip after a day of working.
Nice Catch
