    Default Knee replacement

Well we just got in from the VA and got some good news and some not so good news. I have been approved for knee replacement on both knees is the good news now for the bad. I have got to lose around 20 lbs and get my a1c down some. I have to go back on the 9th of April and if I done my part then they will go ahead and schedule me for the first one. Will probably put it off until June to get in on the best fishing. I don't do much during the summer so I might as well recuperate then.

Don, I hope you do well on your task at hand. Losing weight is hard as all get out for me. I know you'll do good on everything. I am glad I got both of my knees done. I still have a few problems kneeling down but for the long haul it was well worth the pain to achieve being more mobile without the constant pain and aches I had before. Falling was a big problem. I sounded like thunder on the lake at night on ScooperDudes pontoon. I will say this to you with all good intent, ice will be you friend and bend the crap out of your knee in therapy. The farther the better! Good luck with everything ahead of you.

Good luck with it Don. I put off my scheduled back surgery so I could guide all spring and summer. I’ll have it done after deer season in the fall. 2nd knee replacement will come some time after that. Both Drs remind me about my weight so we have been making several eating changes like getting an air fryer and eating out less.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

Meat and greens Don. That will get you there.....no (or low) carbs. Look it up. I found out last nov I was a diabetic and have dropped a total of 45 lbs in the past year. My cholesterol and A1C was high along with the blood sugar but all is in check now. Dieting aint a diet anymore....more of a way of life. It's heck getting old an NOT getting to eat what you want anymore but if you wanna live and kleep all your extremities I guess you do what you have to do. Anyway...Good luck with the surgery.

You can do it Don. I've got faith in you.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

You can do it Don. Just think how nimble and quick you will be coming on the boat lighter and with new knees, you'll be able to jump to back of the boat and get the rod quicker than the fella back there at was supposed to get it! Just keep positive about it and do obey the Doctors orders
    HEY,,WATCH THAT YELLOW ROD
