I've had left knee replaced, should have done it years ago.

this website will provide you many ideas, tons of support
My doctor told me to loose weight, I found Dr Ken D Berry on YouTube. He taught me fasting, and low carb lifestyle. I've lost 30 pounds, feel great, never hungry. Fasting, it's not what you think, it's intermittent fasting, search for videos on YouTube.
Ice is the miracle aid for pain, I learned this with knee replacement, now use an ice pack often for pain.
You will do great, and fishing sooner than you think.
i forgot to mention, Donjoy Iceman, ice water circulation machine, a must have.

Don, when it comes to icing your knees ask the doc about "The Ice Man" it's a pump that circulates cold water from the tank thru the wrapping on your knee. You can load it with ice or frozen water bottles to chill the water. Linda got one when she had her shoulder done, I used it for a sore lower back. It's cold, but not frozen like ice, way more comfortable. Covered by our insurance.
Good luck, keep your eye on the ball and you'll get ready for the next step.

Green beans ,broccoli, turnip greens, cabbage , Brussel sprouts , etc Seasoned with 0 calorie spray or 0 calorie spray butter. Good luck

Thanks fellas for the encouraging words. I haven't really got into the dieting thing yet because I wanted to make sure they would replace them and not turn me down. I know that I can lose the weight and get my a1c back where it needs to be. I know I will feel better after all is done.

Don, that knee replacement is a piece of cake, been there done that. I was walking 4 blocks in the first 3 weeks. Do everything they tell you to in rehab and you'll be OK.

Will probably put it off until June to get in on the best fishing. I don't do much during the summer so I might as well recuperate then.
Have had both knees replaced. DO YOUR REHAB. You will hate the rehab person, but it is a must. Good Luck!
