    Default New boat project

I couldn't let Sinkermaker have all the fun of rigging up a new boat so I got a new to me boat. It is the opposite end of the spectrum from Don's because it is a small skiff. I wanted to be able to fish some of the salt marshes with my buddy that just moved to Southport and to be honest, I just can't get comfortable running a stick steer boat.
This one is made locally in Charleston and is similar to the Gheenoe that is popular in Florida.

It is bare bones 2014 model so I ordered two of the Millennium seats for it. Got them from Gene(EZ Poleholder) yesterday. After sitting in one on Don's boat I was sold on them.

I will move my Ipilot to it along with rod holders, DF, etc. It has a 4stroke 9.9 Yamaha on it which I will probably replace with the new 25HP Yamaha 4Stroke I said new because they just came out with this model and it is 25% lighter than even a two stroke 25 and will probably really scoot on this boat. The boat is made by Rip Tide Boats and you can check them out by googling the name.
I'll get started in the next few weeks and update as I go.

Good little boat to get around in Ray. I have the most fun rigging a new to me boat and I know it irritates the heck out of the wife but I love her that much more for putting up with me. The pontoon is ready to fish and as soon as the weather gets better it will go on it's maiden voyage. Have fun with your boat and keep us posted on your progress

Very cool SeaRay, I'm with you and Don, love rigging. Wadenthebushes on the MS board is looking for a new to him ride, I told him when he got it to bring it over and we would rig her out. He thinks its too much trouble and wants to hire it done but I told him no way, nothing like rigging and spending someone else's money!!!

It is always more fun to spend someone else's money. I never have that luxury as I am always spending mine.

I bought it from Rip Tide Boats owner. It was a prototype for the center console model. He said it would run over 20 with 2 adults with the 9.9. Not sure I believe it but I'll see. The new 25 HP Yamaha is the next generation of light weight 4strokes. It only weighs 25# more than the 9.9. I am not a speed demon but I would like to be capable of 25-30mph in case I get caught in a storm or have to run a long way.

    Ray,
good looking rig, I've built and rigged a few boats in my day with a 25 hp you might want to add some wings. Maybe an ejection seat also.
good luck it's always fun rigging a boat the way you want it
