Hanging It Up!
Went catfishing for awhile this morning and it was MISERABLE! The heat takes all the fun out of fishing anymore so I'm hanging it up until cooler weather. Must be an age thing......dunno. Will keep reading posts but no plans in the near future for fishing again. 8 weeks to bow season. Plenty of maters to juice. Gonna stay low for awhile. Goods luck to all that is still fishing,
BTW...caught a mess of cats for a meal so all wasn't lost. Nothing worthy of pics though. 1 5#er and a 1 lber. Didn't have good bait and they wouldn't bite my offerings. Will post more after the weather cools some.

I know what you mean, This heat is bothering me more and more as I get older. I backed out of going this morning because of the heat, i have to work out in it, thats bad enough, i dont have too fish out in it! But I'll still try to go but leave by lunch time. I'm ready for FALL!!!!!!

Agreed it sucks, but I deal better with warm weather than I do cold weather. When it's cold my joints hurt almost all the time. I can do fishing in the cold some but not with the wind blowing.

It's been cooking for sure! Water temp up my way is almost 90*! You don't have to get the grease near as hot because the fish come home par boiled.... hahah
Glad you caught a mess before hanging it up. I'm going to take a few more trips before I start getting ready for the deer. With baby #2 coming in mid September probably I'm going to need to get an early jump on my four legged friends this year. Either that, or I'll hunt later than normal. Got to keep the freezer full!

I have NEVER let the weather change my mind about going hunting or fishing. Sure....heavy rains or windy days I'd sit those out but NEVER have I ever let hot weather make me stay at home. Last fall I noticed on those near 100* afternoons I didn't deer hunt as much either. I guess since hunting and fishing is ALL I have ever done with my leisure time for the past 40+ years sometimes it's just about as fun just sitting at home reading posts like on CDC or watching a U-tube video of somebody else going knowing that I don't HAVE TO go everyday now. The disappointing thing is that I NEVER thought I'd think this way.
Oh well.....when these temps finally backs out of the 90's I KNOW I will be chomping at the bit to go again. Finished this morning cleaning and polishing the old boat up with her back in the barn getting her batteries charged. For the time being I'll just put 'ole Betsy in the shop and have her pumps replaced along with whatever plumbing needs she has too. She's been needing that FOR AWHILE now but I wouldnt give 'er enough downtime to get that done.
It's only been a day but I keep telling myself "It's only for a couple months!"
