    Default Another Afternoon Trip 4/8/17

I had a few free hours this afternoon to get a short trip in. I already had the boat hooked up to my old truck so I uncovered it and off I went. I fished from 2:30-5:00 and brought home a decent mess. I was casting a black/chart. jig on a pink 1/32 head the whole trip. It took a short while to get my first thump but when I lasso'd the first unruly buck fish I found 3 more right behind him. The rest of the trip it was one here, one there, and I never caught more than one from a spot. I basically just kept the boat moving down the bank and cast to any trash I could see on the bank. It was fun to once again leave all the long poles and minnow buckets at home and fish the same way I caught my first crappie many years ago. The fish weren't whoppers, but there were a few decent fish in the livewell when I quit. My wife's grandmother is going to love the 9" fish when I knock the scales off them!!

    Way to go CB !!!
I hope to try them Monday. Kind of muddy here on the Big Saluda just above Black's Bridge today. Was it muddy/stained in your fishing area ?

That's the way I like to catch 'em.
You can't catch fish from the couch.

CB, We used to fish that way a lot when I was a kid. Now, I'm which ever way is the easiest. Sounded like a good quick trip that really was paying off. Glad you got a few and a great picture of your catch. Thanks!

Sounds like a good day catching some fish. I'm sure those will fry up just fine and will be enjoyed.

I was fishing mid-lake and it was very stained from the usual clear water that's down there.
