We made the drive to Holiday Park and maneuvered through the tourist busses and air boats to launch. We ran a couple of miles to get away from boat traffic and turned into a side canal. A few hundred yards down I spotted a small cut with water flowing out. I nosed into it, dropped a cricket in the cut and WHAM, Game on! For the next 3 hours it was nonstop action. Virtually every bait we dropped in drew a bite. A few small bream, a beautifully colored green carp that hit a single hook Rooster Tail, and uncountable numbers of Oscars. Gerald had a counter and tried to keep count, but it too much activity to deal with. You can judge for yourself.

This was one of 5 coolers that were filled to the rim.

This is one cooler of fish on the cleaning table, with 4 more waiting. It took the 8 of us almost two hours to go through all the fish.
This was 3 1/2 hours of fishing. If you wanted to, you could fill your boat with these scrappy fighters.
I actually got bored and started trying different lures and most everything worked. After our coolers were overflowing, we eased down through the canal casting to ther edges of the lily pads and releasing all we caught. I really got a kick using my ultralight rod a a small Beatle Spin.
Some of you guys need to make this trip, it is a blast. I'll be glad to share any info I have
    to facilitate the trip.

That's some awesome catching Ray. I'm certain the catching was more pleasing than the cleaning. What a great trip it looks like you guys are having. Congrats to all!

Ray, I fully plan on taking you up on that offer when I finally hang up the hooks in another couple/three years. Great catch and congrats on all that fun!

WOW!!!!! Sounds like a heck of a lot of fun.
Ray, maybe make a post on when a good time to go is, gear needed all the info we'd need.
Would I be able to use the toon down there or is it to tight in the cuts?
    Thanks for the report

Man, you guys are doing great. Better you than me cleaning those fish. Is it worth keeping all that many? I know you got to like them if your eating that many during the year. Bring some live back to Wylie! We got room for another species.!
    Good job, SeaRay! Terrific pictures!

If I'm able I might try to go, I still got to many wants that are needed. With new storage building on the books right now, it may take a few more years to save up for that trip. It does sound like a good fishing trip. We might be able to Don, we'll see!

Maybe Ray can be the guide!
