Default Wateree 11/23/16 and Murray 11/25/16

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and got plenty of turkey to eat!! I know we sure did.

I took the day off from work last Wednesday to do a little fishing. My dad and uncle accompanied me on a trip to Wateree. We were tightlining and never burnt them up but we brought home a nice mess of 26 crappie, 10 perch, and 2 striper. The bite was sporadic and we caught fish from 18-28 FOW with most fish coming in close proximity to the bottom. Best color was probably orange for the day. We all shared many laughs and the good Lord blessed us with a beautiful day!

Default Wateree 11/23/16 and Murray 11/25/16

Friday morning I only had a few hours to fish so I made a quick solo trip to my local waters of Lake Murray. The size wasn't exactly what I had hoped for, but the numbers of fish were there. I was tightlining again and in 3 hours of fishing I probably caught 50 crappie with a limit kept of 9-11" fish. I caught fish in 6-18 FOW fishing various depths. No depth proved better than the other and no bait showed out. The fish were as scattered as I've ever seen. It made for a fun outing. My little girl enjoyed seeing them when I got home. She's already hooked and she hasn't even had a rod in her hand...I guess it's in her blood LOL

That is 2 days of nice fishing. I was hoping you posted some pictures of Murray so I could figure out where you were. Your little girl is really growing up. Do you know your picture made the CDC calendar. Thanks for sharing post and pictures. Don

DHEC says 1 meal a week for crappie due to PCB's. PCBS's accumulate in the fatty tissues, so if you fillet the fish instead of eating it on the bone you are already reducing the amount of contaminants.

I apologize for the duplicate pictures...I posted from Tapatalk and there seems to be an issue with the pictures I select to upload. It does that all the time. Last night I went back and erased and reloaded several and was looking right on my phone. Now that I see the post on the computer their are duplicates and several pictures are missing. Anyone else have this problem? I'm using a iPhone 6 with the tapatalk app...
